Comparability guardrail
What is deliberately withheld
Revision history (1)
- Sep 1, 2026Re-swept every publisher against first-party sources. Superseded four editions — Google Cloud ROI of AI to the 3rd annual (Jul 2026, n=2,403), SAP Value of AI to 2026 (Jul 2026, n=2,600), US Census BTOS 19.8% → 22.4% (period ending 9 Aug 2026), and Accenture's sustained-value reading 32% → 23%, a decline Accenture states itself. Added five sources: Deloitte's agentic study (Aug 2026), PwC's CEO Snapshot panel (Aug 2026), EY AI Pulse Wave 5 (Jul 2026), Stanford's revised Canaries (Aug 2026) and OECD Skills in the AI Age (Jul 2026). Google Cloud's 2025 agents-in-production reading was retired rather than carried forward because the 2026 edition does not restate it. McKinsey is unchanged: two independent sweeps disagreed on whether a 2026 State of AI exists and neither could reach the page, so nothing was charted from it.
