Expanding Support for Scientists

Anthropic is expanding AI access for the scientific research community through two primary initiatives. First, it is opening 10,000 seats on a new Claude team plan for scientists, offering standard subscriptions free and premium seats (5x usage limits) at $15/month for one year, with plans to scale well beyond the initial cohort. Second, it is broadening its AI for Science program—previously focused on biological sciences—to cover additional scientific fields including compute-intensive research, with grants of up to $50,000 in credits per project available to any researcher. Anthropic is also partnering with the US government on a controlled access program allowing life sciences professionals to use its most capable Mythos-class models for research and development, with first participants already enrolled. The overarching goal is to accelerate scientific discovery by combining subsidized subscriptions, compute credits, and purpose-built tooling such as the Claude Science workbench.
