Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) agreed a five-year partnership with Porsche worth €1.25 billion to deploy AI across the automaker’s engineering, manufacturing, operations and customer experience functions. As part of the pact, TCS will establish an AI Mobility Centre of Excellence dedicated to Porsche, focusing on scaling AI applications across the sports carmaker’s product and value chain. The facility will target intelligent manufacturing and operations, engineering and customer experience, with TCS aiming to turn AI use cases into “secure and scalable solutions” to improve operational resilience and competitiveness. Under the agreement, TCS will also acquire Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consultancy MHP for an enterprise value of €320 million. The transaction remains subject to regulatory and competition approvals and is expected to close in the coming months. MHP will retain its brand and operate as an independent consultancy under TCS ownership, while continuing its existing collaboration with Porsche. The company currently employs more than 4,500 people worldwide and specialises in automotive and industrial consulting, AI, manufacturing digitalisation and connected mobility. TCS said acquiring MHP would strengthen its presence in Germany and expand its reach among European automotive and industrial customers. Meanwhile, Porsche CEO Michael Leiters (pictured, right) said the sale allows the company “to focus resolutely on its core business with the transfer of MHP to Tata Consultancy Services”. TCS CEO K. Krithivasan (pictured, left) added that “as AI, software and data redefine the automotive industry,” the Indian firm’s AI and engineering capabilities combined with MHP’s automotive consulting expertise will “industrialise AI at scale for Porsche, accelerating innovation across the value chain to deliver intelligent, software-defined mobility experiences of the future”.
