Expanding OpenAI's Presence in Brazil

OpenAI has launched commercial operations in Brazil, headquartered in São Paulo, targeting one of its three largest ChatGPT markets by weekly active users. Brazil generates approximately 215 million ChatGPT messages per day, with user numbers nearly doubling year over year and ChatGPT Enterprise seats growing fivefold annually. Brazil ranks second globally by number of OpenAI API developers, and weekly Codex users have grown more than elevenfold since the start of 2026. An independent study estimates AI could add nearly R$1 trillion to Brazil's GDP by 2030. The local team will support enterprises across financial services, commerce, and public administration, while partnership programs target small businesses, legal professionals, research institutions, and municipal government.
